About Us, What We Do, Who We Are

We see a world where people who think, process, and learn differently are not judged by what they cannot do at school, but by the creative and intelligent contributions they make in our society. We see a world where children are not held accountable for school success when they have never been taught the skills needed for academic learning.
Meadowbrook Educational Services has been serving individuals and families with children who have academic learning difficulties in the Spokane Washington community since 1998. We also serve clients throughout the United States and in several countries notably Singapore and India. Our services and products are designed for struggling learners at any age.
We believe in the neuroplasticity of the brain. We work through a combination of cognitive and non-cognitive programs to increase the foundational skills needed for the brain to effectively learn and communicate. We are strongly influenced by Piaget. We believe learning is a process of development and we believe that you learn the most when you are learning through creative engagement.
Because there are many potential reasons why someone is failing academically we require an MES Assessment before any program planning.

Who We Serve:

Meadowbrook Educational Services has been serving individuals and families with children who have academic learning difficulties in the Spokane Washington community since 1998. We also serve clients throughout the United States and in several countries notably Singapore and India. Our services and products are designed for struggling learners at any age.

Who We Teach:

At Meadowbrook Educational Services we teach people who do not learn easily how to be successful in school or life. We resolve confusions, reinforce comprehension, and restore confidence.

We are dedicated to children and adults who labor to show their intellectual intelligence in traditional learning environments.

Our Passion:

We are passionate about helping because we have been there, observing either ourselves or our own children with learning disabilities. As painful and frustrating as it is for families & teachers, it is always the most painful and frustrating for the child or adult who spends hours and hours of effort for so little result.

Our Audience:

We work with people who struggle to communicate and learn from 2 years to 70+. We utilize a variety of educational programs and often customize foundational curriculum to our clients needs. Every Meadowbrook Program is unique to the goals of our clients. All programs are educational.

We help people who have issues with: balance, attention, stress, concentration, listening, sensory integration, reading, following directions, writing, and math. They usually have labels such as:

  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Auditory Processing Disorder (APD)
  • Pervasive Developmental Disorder – Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS)
  • Learning Disabled
  • Dyslexic
  • Dysgraphic
  • Dyspraxic
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Dorothy Bennett
Dorothy BennettDirector
Dorothy is currently the director of program development. She co-developed “Establishing Foundational Skills for Academic Proficiency”, (EFSAP) Program as a result of seeing the same foundational skills missing in bright underachieving individuals. She has attained a Master’s in Education.

Dorothy’s background and training make her an integral part of Meadowbrook Educational Services. She grew up in a family with a history of autistic and dyslexia tendencies. “Every person on the planet processes and learns differently from others,” says Dorothy. “The key to any type of learning is three-fold – basic learning skills, motivation, and accurate perception. Most of our clients are highly motivated and have great attitudes, but suffer from unresolved confusions or low basic skills. When students have strong foundations they begin to succeed at school developing higher self-worth and confidence.”

Dorothy currently holds certification in the following programs: Neuro-Linguistic Programming; Sound Therapy Air and Bone Conduction; SOI (Structure of Intellect Testing); Audiblox, EFSAP (Establishing Foundational Skills for Academic Profiency). She is a member of SNLP.
